Lester Capon: ‘A little too much is just enough for me’

Designer Bookbinders are pleased to introduce the new President of Designer Bookbinders, Lester Capon FDB, and his oeuvre. Your host for this lecture is Mark Cockram FDB.

Lester Capon started bookbinding in 1975 at Camberwell School of Art & Crafts. He became assistant to James Brockman from 1977-1993, followed by a period as Programme Manager for Fine Binding and Conservation at Guildford College from 1993 to 2000. Lester is a self-employed bookbinder/conservator from 2000 to date. Elected Fellow of Designer Bookbinders in 1986, Lester exhibits regularly and has also served as President from 2003-2005, 2009-2011 and again from 2021.
