Following the AGM business we will have the pleasure of welcoming:
Clive Hicks-Jenkins, RCA, (Illustrator) and Raquel Leis Allion (Art Director, Folio Society), who will give a talk on ‘Finding Beowulf’ on their collaboration on the illustrated Folio Society ‘Beowulf’. An illustrated account of creating the recent lavish Folio Society edition of Seamus Heaney’s translation of Beowulf. Clive Hicks-Jenkins’ paintings, prints and private press books are in numerous public collections in the UK and around the world. His powerful illustrative scheme, for the Folio Society limited edition of Beowulf, includes two exquisite page borders, eight double-page spreads and a striking print for framing.

Suppliers: Harmatan will be selling a selection of leathers and Shepherds will be selling tools and papers (please contact them beforehand if you wish to pre-order something specific from them) .

There will be a display in the front room of Associate Members’ bindings. Refreshments will be served. The day will be rounded off by the President’s Drinks Reception.

The hall of the Art Workers Guild will be open from 1.30pm onwards. The hall will close by 8.00pm.
