Society of Bookbinders (London and South Region) Special Event Announcement

16–17 April: Bookbinding Design Workshop at The London Archives | £55 members / £75 non-members

This is a special event, and a little different from our regular workshops. It is a two-day programme held at The London Archives in Clerkenwell, run in partnership with West Dean College’s FdA Books and Bindings programme. It has been designed specifically with the Society’s International Bookbinding Competition in mind, to help participants think through design ideas and develop their own approach to design binding before the competition entry deadline. No design experience is needed. Tutors and recent graduates from West Dean will share their approach to design binding, with hands-on time to develop your own ideas from a set text. All participants will take home a design plaquette. If you are thinking about entering the competition, or simply curious about design binding as a discipline, this is a great opportunity.
