THE BOOKER PRIZE 2026

The Booker Prize is a prestigious £50,000 literary award recognising the best long-form work of fiction written in English and published in the UK or Ireland. Next Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the six shortlisted books will be announced.

Each year, every Booker Prize shortlisted author receives a unique, hand-bound fine binding of their nominated novel created by Fellows from Designer Bookbinders. This year we are pleased to announce the six binders are: Sue Doggett; Kate Holland; Nicky Oliver; Dominic Riley; Lori Sauer and Rachel Ward-Sale.

We are excited to see which books they will all be paired with, and of course where their creative brains will take them to create this year’s wonderful array of Booker Prize bindings.

Stay tuned to find out more, including where our binders will be working on their bindings, how they undertake the research required to come up with a design, the process they take to physically bind their books, plus how they choose what materials to use. All our Fellows have a unique style of binding and we can guarantee that no two books will be alike!

The bindings will be presented to the shortlisted authors at the winner ceremony on November 9th, 2026.
