ASSOCIATE MEMBERS EXHIBITION 2025

– Are you an Associate member of DB?
– Are you working on, or have you recently completed a binding that you are pleased with?
– Do you want to show your work during our society’s key annual event this year?

….then this is the post for you: read on!

At the 2025 DB Spring Meeting at the Art Workers Guild in London, we will once again be hosting an exhibition of Associate members’ work and all Associate members are invited to participate. The meeting will take place on Saturday 26th April and over the years has expanded to be a multifaceted event including: a suppliers fair; a bring and buy stall; a talk by guest speaker Tom Ayling; and the day will be rounded off with a drinks reception hosted by our President, Stuart Brockman.

At the 2024 Associates exhibition we had fabulous work from a range of international and UK binders, and we know at least one binding was sold following the event. Note that this is not a DB competition, nor is it an official selling exhibition. There is no set book, no prizes, no entrance fee and no judging. We want you to have the widest choice of book and binding style possible so you can come up with something a little bit special!

It would be great to see an ever-wider display of what our Associate members are capable of producing! Any book structure or materials can be exhibited, though do bear in mind the books will be displayed on open tables (though touching is discouraged!). We prefer members to bring their binding along on the day, but postal arrangements can be made if required (we appreciate it may be more difficult for overseas members to attend). If you are interested in exhibiting a binding, or have any queries, please contact Glenn Malkin at glenn@glennmalkin.com to ensure that you are kept informed of all the details and arrangements when they are organised.

NB.
– Bindings you have made previously will be accepted so long as they haven’t been exhibited by DB previously.
– Please contact Glenn with expressions of interest by this time next week (WED 12TH MAR)
